Mangalore, Dec 14, 2011: A dead body was discovered in a well belonging to the railway department, near the Mangalore Junction Railway Station on Dec 14 Wednesday. The local people had begun complaining of a foul smell coming from the well, which is located in a deserted place and surrounded with weeds.

The body was in a highly decomposed state, indicating that the person must have died a long time back.

The body is dressed in jeans and shirt, but the clothes are in a pathetic condition. The Pandeshwar police arrived at the spot and retrieved the body with ropes. The police are of the opinion that the person must have fallen in at least one month back. They have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter.
