Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Nov 16, 2011: The local unit of the Karnataka Dalit Sangarsh Samithi organized a protest in front of the DC’s office on Nov 15 Wednesday demanding the immediate resignation of Suresh Kumar, the urban development minister.

M. Devadas, organizing convener of KDSS, said that Suresh Kumar is responsible for the fact that two Dalits have died recently while cleaning septic tanks. Although making people manually clean septic tanks is illegal, it is still being done, he lamented.
