DC inaugurates Physio Week 2012 and blood donation camp

Mangalore, Jan 7, 2012: DC of DK Dr. N. S. Channappa Gowda inaugurated Physio Week 2012 at Wenlock Hospital on Jan 7 Saturday; besides, he also inaugurated a blood donation camp.

In his inaugural address, he spoke of the importance of donating blood and said that the act of donating blood should not be commercialized.

Wenlock Hospital DMO Dr. G. M. Sangameshwar presided over the event. In his presidential address, he spoke on how to use blood properly and gave valuable tips on blood storage.

 

Dr. M. V. Shetty Memorial College Secretary Ramgopal Shetty spoke of the need to provide free blood to BPL card holders and appreciated budding physiotherapists for expressing willingness to donate blood.

Dr. Shivacharan Shetty, the director of Namma TV, was the chief guest of the event and Ln. Famida Ibrahim and Blood Bank Officer Dr. Zulfikar Ahmed were the guests of honor.

The 13th annual blood donation camp was successful, with over 40 boys and 25 girls donating blood. A lucky draw will be held for the donors at the 8th All India Physiotherapy Conference, scheduled to be held in Mangalore on Jan 11. The winner will be presented a watch.
