Customs seize over 2 kg of gold today again at Mangalore airport

Mangalore, Oct 25, 2013: The customs officials at the Mangalore International Airport seized over 2 kg of gold from a person arrived from Dubai by the Air India Express flight today morning, October 25, Friday.
The seized gold was concealed in as many as twenty five shirt hangers. Gold rods were shaped in the form of ‘hangers’ which were covered by plastic tube. These hangers were part of the luggage bags. The customs officials detected unusual objects in the scanning and had searched for the object. They were surprised to see the new idea of disguised gold smuggling. The passenger has been arrested and taken into custody.
