Cops arrest 4 burglars within 5 hours of crime

Mangaluru, June 17, 2023: The Pandeshwar police have arrested four men who were trying to flee after committing burglaries in two houses near the KMC hospital at Attavar. The arrest was made within five hours of the burglaries.

 

Those arrested are Muhammad Asif (23), Sheikh Maidul (25), Vakeel Ahmed (34) of New Delhi and Rafiq Khan (24) of West Bengal.

Police have seized stolen jewellery worth several lakhs and cash from the arrested.

It is said the four had broken open the doors of two flats at Brijesh Apartment at Attavar on Thursday afternoon and had escaped with valuables worth Rs 4.45 lakhs.

The four were taken into custody while they were moving suspiciously near Panambur beach in the evening. Apart from valuables police have also seized cutters, screw drivers, iron rods and seven mobile phones from the accused.

During interrogation they told the police that they targeted locked houses and apartments.
