Belthangady, Jan 7, 2018: There was no question of tolerating violence and killings in the name of religion, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking after laying foundation and inaugurating several projects worth Rs 76 crores in Belthangady Taluk on January 7, Sunday. The function was held at Belthangady Taluk Stadium.
The Chief Minister said there was a need to end communal politics. There is no use singing the state anthem authored by Kuvempu unless one understands its essence, the Chief Minister said. He also reiterated that no scope would be given to anyone to take law into their hands.
Vasanth Bangera, MLA of Belthangady presided over the function. The Chief Minister distributed various amenities pertaining to different departments to as many as 1,800 beneficiaries.
State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai, MLC and Chief Whip of State Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza, DCC Chief Harish Kumar, Mamatha Gatti, Shahul Hameed and others were present.
