Mangalore, Nov 25, 2012: The CPI(M)’s statewide mobile jatha, launched to create awareness about the BJP government’s maladministration in the state and Congress-led central government arrived at DK on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering in front of the DC’s office in Mangalore, GN Nagaraj, Karnataka state secretariat member of CPI(M), accused the state as well as central governments for their involvement in corrupt activities.
Stating that the BJP-led state government is steeped in corruption, he said that one cannot say if it will continue to remain in power by the end of December. The MPs, MLAs, and ministers have been busy sorting out their own internal conflicts and are hardly aware of public problems, he said. Calling BJP ministers “real estate dealers in the guise of public servants,” he said that they have done nothing, but grab land from the poor.
Flaying the Congress, he said that the iron ore scam has its roots in the time of S. M. Krishna. Stating that the Congress is 100 times more corrupt than the state government, he said that the union government is allowing foreign capitalist powers into the country through its FDI policies.
The awareness jatha began at Ramadurga, Belgaum on Nov 18 and will end in Bangalore on Dec 3 after proceeding to different cities. A similar jatha was flagged off at Bidar, and it will merge with this jatha in Bangalore on Dec 3.
A number of CPI(M) leaders such as Muneer Katipalla, B. Madhava, and others were also present.
