CM, colleagues enjoy a jog on an uneven synthetic track at Mangala Stadium!

Mangalore, Mar 19, 2013 : On March 18, Monday, top leaders right from Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and his colleagues, including District Minister CT Ravi, Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat, MLA Krishna Palemar and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel were seen enjoying a jog on the incomplete synthetic track at Mangala Stadium.

The occasion was the inaugural of the Synthetic track a long standing demand of the athletes of the region, by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar. Though much works are yet to be completed on the 400 meter synthetic track and it presently had an uneven surface, that did not deter the CM and his colleagues from enjoying a jog .

All the works of the synthetic track are expected to be completed by May. Arun V Rao, Secretary of Dakshina Kannada Athletic Association points out that several portions of the track continued to be uneven and one part has even come up over a drain.

Still, the hasty inaugural ! The reason is anyone’s guess !
