G. Rajshekar said in his protest address that Israel has continued to usurp Palestinian land over the years through several Arab – Israeli wars.

Further, he said that Palestinians have been persecuted by Israeli forces continuously. While India supported Palestine before the nineties, it began aligning with the USA and Israel after accepting IMF and World Bank directions and is today the largest importer of defense weapons from Israel, he said.

Munawwar Udupi, district treasurer of the CFI, said that the creation of Israel was forced, unjust, and illegal, and ever since Israel was carved out of Palestinian land for displaced Jewish families after the World Wars, the native Palestinian Arabs have suffered intensely. The Palestinian people have been struggling hard to maintain their identity against Zionist aggression supported by the US and its allies.

The protestors also burned the national flag of Israel on this occasion.

Among those who addressed the gathering was Farhan Honnala, president of CFI Udupi. CFI members Ashiq Muloor, Faraz Brahmavar, and Shafiq Udupi were also present.

The CFI submitted a memorandum to the president of India, the prime minister of India, and the foreign minister of India through the deputy commissioner of Udupi, demanding that India must immediately sever all ties with Israel and demand UN intervention in the issue.
