Mangalore, July 20, 2012: Addressing the gathering after presenting a video of the Gujarat Town Planning Project, P. V. K. Rameshwaram, chairman of the Graduate School in CEPT University, spoke of the importance of bureaucratic and political support for town planning.
He said that a 15-member team from CEPT University will visit Mangalore, conduct a survey of various places for 15 days, and then submit a master plan within one year.
He also said that the Mangala Corniche Project will be implemented along the lines of Sabarmathi Riverfront Development Company.
During the land acquisition process for development projects, the public will be invited for discussions and authorities concerned will interact with land owners before submitting the final scheme to the state government for approval, he said.
He also said that the project with give top priority to preservation of historical monuments and land marks of traditional and historical significance.
S. Ramesh, MUDA chairman, chaired the meeting. Nelson, Shobith, Suresh Rao, and other MUDA engineers were present.
