Belthangady: Fire guts house in Neriya’s Kaddibagilu; major damage reported

Belthangady, Oct 7, 2025: A major fire broke out at the house of Harish in Kaddibagilu, Neriya village, on Monday night, causing extensive damage to the property. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as no one was at home during the incident.

Harish, who works as a bhajana (devotional singing) leader, was away with his team, while his wife and daughter had gone to her parental home. Two other children, who were at home earlier, had gone to a neighbour’s house in the evening.

Preliminary information suggests that the fire broke out later at night. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

According to locals, the tiled-roof house was almost completely gutted in the blaze.
