Bantwal: Labourer dies as rice transporting lorry overturns

Bantwal, May 30, 2025: A labourer lost his life after the rice transporting lorry in which he was travelling went out of control of the driver and overturned near the SVS College at Bantwal on Friday morning.

The deceased is Nirmala Anstha (32) of Jarkhand. The lorry driver and cleaner escaped unhurt.


Lorry overturn, driver dies


The lorry was proceeding after loading rice in Udupi and was on way to Bantwal when the driver lost control over it due to heavy rains. The labourer who was in the rear of the vehicle fell off the vehicle on to the road and died on the spot.

Bantwal Traffic Police visited the spot.
