Bantwal, Mar 22, 2026: A case has been registered against an auto-rickshaw driver for allegedly assaulting staff and damaging property at a gas agency located in Melkar Bogodi of Panemangalore village in Bantwal.

The complaint was filed by Kunal Bhuhnia (27), who works as a manager at the gas agency. According to the complaint, on the evening of March 20, a man identified as Afreez (28), a resident of Sajipamooda in Bantwal, arrived at the agency in his auto-rickshaw.

Assault


It is alleged that the accused suddenly entered the office, verbally abused a staff member named Ashwin using foul language, and physically assaulted him. He then came outside and vandalized property belonging to the gas agency.

The complaint states that the accused caused damage amounting to approximately ₹48,000.

Based on the manager’s complaint, Bantwal Town Police have registered a case (Crime No. 36/2026) under Sections 115(2), 287, 324(4), 351(2), and 352 of the BNS 2023, and an investigation is underway.
