Bantwal, Feb 28, 2026: In a case of alleged illegal cattle transportation, police seized a vehicle at Kolnadu village.

The incident occurred at Karai in Kolnadu village of Bantwal taluk, where Vitla PSI Ramakrishna and his team intercepted the vehicle. The vehicle was found parked by the roadside, and two cows were reportedly being transported in a cruel and cramped manner.


Cattle

Police questioned the occupants of the vehicle, identified as Naveen and Chetan, residents of Mandya. During the inquiry, it was revealed that a person named Shankar from Channarayapatna had allegedly sent the cattle to Shafi of Salettur with the intention of slaughtering them and selling the meat. It was also found that the cattle were being transported using documents obtained in another person’s name, police said.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
