Bantwal, May 06, 2024: Two girls have drowned in the Netravathi river at Navoor on Sunday evening.
The deceased are Ashra (11), daughter of Ansar and Mariam Nashia (14), daughter of Ilyas. Ilyas had come to a relative’s house at Navoor on Sunday and family members were sitting on the river bank. The children were making merry when all of a sudden the two girls got washed away.
As none of the family members knew swimming, they could not rescue the girls.
