BSR Congress hasn’t invited any local politician – Sriramulu

Mangalore, Aug 2, 2012: MLA Sriramulu, founder of the Badava Shramika Raitha (BSR) Congress, announced that no local politician has expressed a desire to join BSR Congress. Interacting with reporters on the sidelines of his Swabhimani Sankalpa Yatra in Mangalore today, the Bellay politician said that neither has he contacted any local politician nor has any local politician contacted him. 

It may be recalled that B. Nagaraj Shetty, who had recently quit the BJP, said at a press conference that Sriramulu had invited him to join the BSR Congress. 

In response to a reporter’s query regarding the party’s ability to win the upcoming elections, Sriramulu said that his party is now giving priority to establishing itself as a major party in the elections, adding that the party might join other regional parties depending on circumstances after the elections. He also said that the Indian Constitution allows MPs and MLAs of other parties to favor him if they wish, citing as an example the recent presidential election.  

Regarding allegations of his involvement in the mining scam, the politician refused to make any comments, but said that the case is now in court.
