Puttur, Oct 7, 2012: Speaking about the Cauvery issue on Oct 7, Sunday, D. V. Sadananda Gowda, former chief minister of Karnataka, said that the BJP leaders should be willing to even disobey the Supreme Court in the best interests of the state.
Stating that they should be willing to face contempt of court, he said that they should stay firm even if it means inviting the wrath of the apex court. If the apex court’s ruling is not in favor of the state, BJP MLAs must be ready to quit, he added.
He also flayed Congress leaders for accusing the BJP ministers of having no guts to act in the best interests of the state.
Voicing his opinions about BSY quitting the party, Gowda said that the former chief minister is not likely to quit as he had built the BJP in Karnataka, adding that even if he joins another party, he will not get the status he now enjoys in the BJP.
Regarding party workers and leaders who publicly complain about the party, he said that the high command must take stern action against them.
