Bengaluru, Aug. 13, 2026: Obscene videos and newspaper clippings containing obscene photographs of young women were allegedly found on a mobile phone recovered from former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna’s cell at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.

The material came to light during an inspection conducted by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) following allegations of illegal activities inside the prison. The contents of the mobile phone have emerged as a significant finding in the inquiry.

During questioning, Prajwal reportedly admitted that a pocket diary recovered from his cell belonged to him. However, undertrial prisoner Pratap Rai claimed ownership of the mobile phone, charger and pen drive found during the inspection, stating that he had been using the phone to communicate with his relatives and lawyer.

Based on the findings of the inquiry, the CCB registered an FIR against Pratap Rai at the Parappana Agrahara Police Station.

Following the inspection, prison authorities shifted Prajwal from a VIP cell to a general cell.
