Mangalore, October 30, 2009: "Apoorva Kalavidaru," a drama troupe of Kasargod staged a play called "Male Nintha Mele" in front of the deputy commissioner’s office on October 30, Friday. The purpose of the performance was to raise funds for the flood victims of North Karnataka.
This play, written by Ratnakar Mallmoole, is based on the theme of the development that ought to take place at North Karnataka after the destruction wrought by the recent floods.
The troupe is staging this particular play in various spots as part of a rangayatre, organized to collect funds for North Karnataka’s flood victims. The first performance of this play was at the new bus stand of Kasargod on October 27. The troupe aims to present the play at 10 different places.
After the performance in front of the district commissioner’s office, the troupe plans to move to Mysore and then to Bangalore for the last performance at Ravindra Kalakshetra on November 1 at 4 p.m.
