Mangalore, April 15, 2013: The Congress is set to face a daunting task to settle the dissidence that has now sparked off soon after its announced Moidin Bava as its candidate from Mangalore North. The party decision has apparently displeased the supporters of Vijaykumar Shetty, former MLA who was also very much keen in contesting from Mangalore North.
No sooner the Congress decision came out Vijaykumar Shetty supporters were out on the streets of Suratkal expressing their anguish. Many were also heard requesting their leader to rebel against the party and contest as an independent.
There were also reports that attempts of the Congress candidate Bava to try to persuade Shetty loyalists went in vain.
Here it is worth mentioning that dissidence had sparked even in Mangalore South soon after the announcement of JR Lobo’s candidature. If Ivan supporters had staged a protest, later they had come to terms and had agreed to respect the decision of the party leadership.

If not, then he shld contest the elections as independent and get elected. that time congress will understand their mistake. I am a strong supporter of vijay kumar shetty not coz he is congressman. but he is v humble and man of the poor . |
