Mangalore, Apr 22: Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, popularly known as Amma, will visit Mangalore for two days to interact with her followers and to conduct meditation and bhajan programmes as well as poojas at Amrita Vidyalayam in Boloor on May 1 – 2.

Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi President Dr. Jeevaraj Sorake told reporters at a press conference held on April 22, Friday that a four-part event called Amrita Sangama 2011 has been arranged.

The Brahmastana Mahotsava, which comprises a number of rituals such as udayastamana puja, samoohika shree Lalitha sahasranamarchane, rahudosha nirvana puja, shanidosha nirvana puja, and others, will also form part of Amrita Sangama, said Dr. Sorake.
 
Amma will conduct bhajans and meditation sessions during these two days. Token holders will also receive a hug from her, he said, adding that around 50,000 people are expected to participate in the event. Sarvajanika annasantharpane will also be held during these two days and transport facilities will be arranged with the help of the district private bus owners as well as the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
 
Madhav Suvarna and Vishwanath Puthran, the members of the reception committee and the Brahmastanam Mahotsava Samithi, were also present.
