Mangalore, Apr 20, 2013: The election manifesto of the Janata Dal (Secular) was released in Mangalore on April 19, Saturday by party leader Sadananda Shetty. Earlier, he also inaugurated the election publicity office of the party near Hotel Maya International at Balmatta.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadananda Shetty said he withdrew from contesting from Mangalore south constituency on health grounds and not owing to any other reason.
He further said though there were some differences in the party, all leaders and workers would work unitedly for the party in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking on the occasion, the party candidate from Mangalore South SP Changappa said he has already secured the primary membership of the JD(S) and added he was ready to give a befitting reply to the criticisms leveled by his opponents. On reports of differences in the party, Changappa compared a party to a family and added differences were common in a family.
District JD(S) President MB Sadashiva, Gopalkrishna Attavar, Azeez Kudroli, Sushil Noronha and others were present.
Earlier, the JD(S) candidate and other leaders visited Sri Gokarnanatha Temple at Kudroli along with party workers and leaders and after offering prayers to the Lord began his publicity campaign.
