Mangalore, September 16: District wing of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has staged protest against the commercialization of education at Ambedkar Circle, Jyothi on Thursday, September 16.

The protest was held as part of nation wide protest against the commercialization of education. 


At the protest, students urged to form a unique and suitable law by the central to curb the commercialization of education. They said that private educational institutions in the country are charging huge fees for professional courses, making them out of the reach of poor students. 


Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh, Secretary of ABVP said that al most all educational institutions are charging huge fees from the students. So the weaker sections of the society are facing problems at the time of admission.


Although there were several proposals to introduce legislations on education, none had measures aimed at preventing “commercialization” of education. They also urged the central government not to introduce the “Prevention of Unfair Practices in Technical, Medical and Universities Bill he said.
