Udupi, Sep 6, 2011 : Teachers’ Day turned out to be extremely tragic for four lecturers of SVS PU College Katpady and a lecturer of Viveka PU College Kota who were severely injured when the car they were in collided with an express bus bound to Mangalore on the National Highway at Udyavar on Monday morning.
Jadabharatha Sharma, the sociology lecturer; Dilip Kumar Banshole, the Hindi lecturer; and Shantharam P., the English lecturer from SVS PU College Katpady and Rajagopala of Viveka PU College Kota have been seriously injured. Vivekakrishna, the son of Rajagopal, who was with them, also sustained injured.
The five have been admitted to a private hospital and are on the road to recovery.
The lecturers were on their way to Udupi to participate in a protest held in front of the DC’s office.
The Kaup police have registered a case.
