2 injured as car rams into stationed lorry near Hejamady toll gate

Udupi, July 1, 2025: Two passengers travelling in a car sustained injuries after the Innova car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationed lorry near the Hejamady toll plaza during the wee hours of Tuesday.

The injured are Lokesh (43) from Kodikere and Viraj (29) from Kulai. The mishap took place when they were returning from a function.


Car-Lorry


It is said the car driver did not notice the lorry laden with wooden logs that was parked near the Hejamady toll gate. The car was badly mangled and the locals as well as toll staff had a tough time in getting out the two passengers stuck inside the vehicle.

Both of them are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru and are said to be out of danger.
