The minister was addressing a press meet in Mangaluru on Monday. Prabhu said that there has been an unprecedented focus on the improvement of trade and industry during the past five years of the NDA government in the Centre.

Service exports

He further said, “There is a considerable increase in exports in India. The service exports reached $ 210 billion and the merchandise exports stood at $ 330 billion, bringing down the trade deficit to a great extent. Owing to a good economic development, there is a growth wave across the nation.”

Expressing confidence that the NDA would form the government in the Centre again, Prabhu said that Narendra Modi will take over as prime minister for the second time and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will be re-elected for the third time.

“The citizens will repose their faith in Modi. This is evident with the overwhelming response of the people to Modi’s rallies and public addresses, even in Mangaluru,” he added.

He also said that welfare programmes such as Ayushman Bharat, a record allocation of Rs 8.5 lakh crore to the Department of Railways and Industrial Growth will bring the BJP back to power.

Market price

“The government is committed to providing a good market price for coffee, tea, rubber, tobacco and spices. Thrust will be laid on the export of fish, thereby encouraging seafood marketing in India. The ministry is working on the project of a spice park in Chikkamagaluru, which will benefit growers,” the Union minister listed out.

Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, former MLA Yogish Bhat, BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel, Puttur MLA and BJP district committee president Sanjeeva Matandoor, and BJP district committee vice president Ravishankar Mijar were present at the press meet.
