Rohini Acharya Alleges Abuse, Says She Was Forced Out of RJD After Quitting Politics

New Delhi, Nov 16, 2025: A day after announcing her resignation from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and her exit from politics, Rohini Acharya has made explosive allegations against members of her father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party.

In a series of posts on X on Sunday, the former Saran candidate said she was verbally abused, humiliated and even threatened with physical assault. “Filthy abuses were hurled at me and a slipper was raised to hit me… I did not compromise my self-respect,” she wrote.

Rohini alleged she was “torn away” from her maternal home, leaving behind her “crying parents and sisters,” and accused party members of spreading vile claims about her father’s kidney transplant, including suggesting she donated her kidney for money.

On Saturday, she stunned the party by declaring she had “disowned” her family and was quitting politics, blaming party leaders Sanjay Yadav and Rameez for forcing her out.

Speaking to reporters at Patna airport, she reiterated her charges, naming Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, and Rameez as those responsible. “They threw me out… When you take their names, you are disgraced and abused,” she said.

Her allegations come just a day after the RJD-led opposition suffered a major defeat in the 2025 Bihar Assembly election.
