Mangaluru: 14-year-old boy feared drowned at Panambur Beach

Mangaluru, Oct 6, 2026: A 14-year-old boy is feared drowned after he was swept away by a powerful wave while playing in the sea with his friends at Panambur Beach on Sunday evening.

The missing boy has been identified as Shreyas (14), son of Sesappa, a resident of Renkeda Guttu in Kasaba village of Beltangady taluk.

According to reports, Shreyas had visited the beach with five friends. While they were playing in the water, a massive wave struck the group and swept Shreyas into the sea.

After being informed by his son’s friends, Sesappa lodged a complaint at the Panambur police station.

The police have registered a case and launched a search operation to trace the missing boy.
