New Delhi, June 28, 2022: India recorded 11,793 new cases in the last 24 hours, 30.9 per cent lower than the previous day. The highest number of cases was recorded in Kerala with 3,206 cases.
This brings the total number of cases in the country to 4,34,18,839 according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday. The death toll climbed to 5,25,047 with 27 new fatalities reported in the country in the last 24 hours.
70.23 per cent of the new cases were reported from Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Karnataka. Kerala alone is responsible for 27.19 per cent of the cases.
Meanwhile, a total of 9,486 patients recovered fully, which brings the total recoveries to 4,27,97,092 across the country. India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.57 per cent.
A total of 19,21,811 Covid vaccine doses were administered within that period, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,97,31,43,196.
A total of 3,03,604 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
