The yatra will again resume from Talore Bypass junction at 5 pm to reach the south gate of Thissur Vadakkumnathan temple.

"Workers and people of Thrissur come out in large numbers to support Shri @RahulGandhi and all the Padyatris as #BharatJodoYatra resumes after a much deserved break," Congress said in a tweet.

AICC General Secretary, Communications In-charge, Jairam Ramesh tweeted, "After a day of rest, the 17th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra began around 6:35 am today from Perambra Junction, Thrissur district. The Yatris will walk 12 km this morning." (sic)

A medical camp was organised on Friday, on the day of rest, for the participants of the march and the Seva Dal team at Chalakudy.

Former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy joined Rahul Gandhi in Bharat Jodo Yatra today.

The padyatra which resumed from Perambra Junction, Thrissur, will stop at Amballur Junction at 10 am for morning breakfast. The yatra will resume from Talore Bypass junction at 5 pm and will halt for the evening break at Swaraj Round road, Vadakkumnathan South Gate at 7 pm. The night stay for the padyatris is scheduled at Thope Stadium.

Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would participate in the Karnataka leg of the ’Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi that will be entering the state on September 30, state party chief D K Shivakumar said on Friday. The dates will be announced in the future.

Congress leader KC Venugopal also confirmed the development and said, "Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will join Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka. AICC is satisfied with the arrangements made by the Karnataka Congress unit. The yatra started on September 7 and the response it has received is unimaginable."

"In Karnataka, Congress President Sonia Gandhi may attend the Bharat Jodo Yatra some day, and Priyanka Gandhi will also be joining separately," Venugopal said.

Hitting out at the BJP, KC Venugopal said, "For the past 10 years, BJP and Sangh Parivar are trying to tarnish the image of Rahul Gandhi. The BJP should know that their livestock has been damaged due to the success of Yatra. The Yatra is going to be a turning point in Indian politics."

"People’s response to the Bharat Jodo Yatra is far beyond the party’s expectations," Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said.

The Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra will cover 3,570 km in 150 days. It started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7 and will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir.

The yatra, which entered Kerala on the evening of September 10, will go through the state covering 450 km, touching seven districts in 19 days before entering Karnataka on September 30.
