The Jet Airways flight 9w260 and Air India flight AI 215 were shifted to an isolation bay at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was also activated.

Both the flights are currently being checked by bomb disposal squads and the area where the two planes are parked have been cordoned off.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Airports had received a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) threat call and security agencies are treating the bomb call at the Delhi airport as ‘specific’.

“ Jet Airways flight 9W 260, scheduled to depart from Delhi to Kathmandu at 1325 hours, as been delated due to a security alert. All 122 guests and seven crew members have been taken to the departures waiting area at the airport. We regret the inconvenience caused to our guests,” Jet Airways said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Air India tweeted that the AI flight DEL-KTM has been taken to the bay area. Passengers have been deboarded and taken to the terminal building.

Three threat calls were received at DCP airport office. The first threat call was at 13:05 hours and the second one was at 13:10 hours. The caller identified himself as one Hafiz Azad from Islamabad and said that there are bombs in two laptops in both the flights.

On Monday too, a similar call had grounded a Jet Airways flight to Kathmandu.
