"Shinde sahab aage badho, hum tumhare sath hain," the supporters shouted. This is for the first time that the rebel MLAs of Shinde’s camp were seen together in Assam.

Earlier in the day, Shinde tweeted a three-page letter reacting to CM Uddhav Thackeray’s emotional speech.

While launching an attack on Uddhav Thackeray, the Shinde camp in an open letter said, "Despite having a Shiv Sena CM in the state, the party MLAs didn’t use to get the opportunity to visit Varsha Bungalow (CM’s residence). People around the CM usually decide if we can meet him or not. We felt insulted."

They added, “The doors of the CM’s residence were closed to us for the last 2.5 years."

In their letter, the Shinde camp also mentioned the Ram Mandir issue. "When Hindutva and Ram Mandir are crucial issues for the party, then why did the party stop us from visiting Ayodhya. MLAs were called and stopped from going to Ayodhya during Aaditya Thackeray’s visit to Ayodhya," they said.

A high political drama started in Maharashtra when Eknath Shinde, along with 26 MLAs, went missing after the results of the MLC polls were declared, a development believed to be a result of cross-voting by certain MLAs of the ruling government. According to sources, around 42 MLAs are camping at the hotel in Guwahati.
