’Illegal’: Actor threatens legal action against Congress for using his photo in ‘PayCM’ poster

Mangalore Today News Network

Bengaluru, Sep 23, 2022: Bengaluru-based actor Akhil Iyer has flagged the use of his photo for Karnataka Congress’s ‘PayCM posters’. Akhil Iyer said that his photo has been used without his consent.

The ‘PayCM posters’ with Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai’s image has been put across Bengaluru as the Congress stepped up its attack on the BJP. The “40% Sarkara” posters are designed to highlight how 40 per cent commission rate has allegedly become the norm under the current BJP regime.

One of the posters used Akhil Iyer’s photo and had phrases like “Are you still numb?”, “The gluttony of 40% Sarkara has robbed over 54,000 youths of a career”.

Taking to Twitter, actor Akhil Iyer flagged the “illegal” use of his image and said, “I am appalled to see that my face is being used illegally and without my consent for "40% Sarkara" a Congress campaign that I have nothing to do with. I will be taking legal action against this.”

He tagged Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Siddaramaiah in the post and urged them to look into the matter.
