Mangalore, Dec 19, 2011: Interacting with reporters after participating at a Vajapeya Somayaga performed at the Nandagokula Cow Shelter near Narahari Temple, Kalladka in the morning of Dec 19 Monday, B. S. Yeddyurappa, the former chief minister of Karnataka, said that he is willing to become the chief minister once again if the BJP high command gives the green signal.
Explaining that he had resigned simply because the high command had instructed him to do so, the former chief minister said that things are getting better for him once again. Insisting that D. V. Sadananda Gowda’s victory in the council election is certain, the former chief minister simultaneously dropped hints that things are getting favorable for him and that he is willing to take up his responsibilities as and when the BJP high command makes him the national leader of the party.
Stating that the purpose of conducting the yaga is to ensure that the state gets a good leader, Yeddyurappa said that India is a democracy where voters decide the fate of politicians. He was quick to add that the yaga was not conducted to ask special personal favors.
In response to a journalist’s query, he said that he takes part is most of the yagas conducted in DK and that this is just one such yaga.
It may be noted that this is Yeddyurappa’s second yaga at the same venue within a fortnight. He was at the venue early this morning and participated in the poornahuti, which was conducted at 11:00 a.m.
Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and his wife, District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, MLCs Bharathi Shetty and Captain Ganesh Karnik, CDA Chairman B. Nagaraj Shetty, and BJP District President Padmanabha Kottary were among those present.
