Mangalore, October 6: Victory celebrations Procession of Mangalore United team, which ambushed defending champion Provident Bangalore in the final of the Mantri Karnataka Premier League held at Chinnaswamy stadium, has begun under the leadership of its owner B A Moideen Bava from NITK ground Surathkal Saturday, on October 9, Saturday at 3.00pm.

The victory procession is the part of the celebrations. The team has received a hero’s welocome in Mangalore, with hundreds of thousands of fans cheering the team as they paraded through Surathkal, Kulai Kottara, Lalbagh, PVS, Bunts Hostel, Jyothi Circle and the end point at Nehru Maidan. The trophy has been placed in an open and decorated truck with the Mangalore United colors.
 

People chanted ‘Champeons…Champeons..champeons and waved Mangalore United teams flag at the players as they walked along the road. Fans waved at the players from balconies while others standing at the road to get a better view of the team which won the Mantri Karnataka Premier League twenty20 defeating Provident Bangalore team.


The tableaux of Hulivesha, Yakshagana troupes, chende kombu  vaadya, kalladka gombe, Nasik band were the other attraction of the procession. The procession reached Nehru Maidan located in the heart of the city at 6 pm.


The felicitation programme will begin at Dr. T. M. A. Pai International Convention Centre at 7 p.m., during which the team members will be honoured.
