Puttur: CM announces Rs 5 lakh compensation for family of student killed in honeybee attack

Puttur, Oct 22, 2025: The Chief Minister has announced ₹5 lakh in financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the family of a young student who tragically died following a honeybee attack near Sediapu.
The announcement was made during the Ashoka Janamana programme on Monday, after Minister Ashok Rai brought the incident to the Chief Minister’s attention. He confirmed that orders have already been issued to release the compensation to the grieving family.
The victim, Jisha (7), a Class 2 student at Vivekananda Primary School in Tenkila, was attacked by a swarm of honeybees while walking home from school. Though she was rushed to the hospital for treatment, she later succumbed to her injuries. Two others injured in the same incident are still receiving medical care.
