Uppinangady, Oct 3, 2025: The Uppinangady police have arrested a man on charges of consuming and transporting narcotic substances for sale at Bedrodi in Bajattur village.
The arrested person has been identified as Razak (43), a resident of Matha Hirthadka, Uppinangady. On September 30, Uppinangady police sub-inspector Avinash H and his team signalled a car coming from Nelyadi towards Uppinangady to stop. However, the driver, Razak, drove a little further, halted the vehicle, and attempted to escape on foot.
He was caught by the police, and during interrogation, he confessed to consuming and transporting MDMA. A search of the car led to the seizure of 12.35 grams of MDMA. In addition, police seized two mobile phones worth around ₹10,000 each and the car used for the crime, valued at about ₹3 lakh.
A case has been registered at the Uppinangady police station.
