Udupi: Police raid illegal sand mining, seize vehicle and sand

Udupi, Oct 9, 2025: Kota police conducted a raid on illegal sand mining on Oct 8 at Chini Bettu Choundal in the Seetanadi stream near Nancharu village.
Acting on confirmed information, the police seized a pickup vehicle and around Rs 5,000 worth of sand. During the operation, the individuals involved in the sand mining, Ganesh Shetty Nancharu and Chetan Naik, managed to escape. A case has been registered at Kota police station.
