Manipal: School bus loses control, mounts divider; major mishap averted

Udupi, Jun 25, 2026: A school bus belonging to Al-Ibadad Indian School met with an accident and climbed onto a road divider near INOX (Cine Galaxy) in Manipal on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred at the curve leading from the Manipal traffic signal towards Laxmindra Nagar. The bus reportedly lost control and mounted the highway divider. The impact damaged the roadside barricade as well as the front portion of the bus.
No fatalities or serious injuries have been reported in the incident. Authorities said a potentially major mishap was averted.
Further details regarding the cause of the accident are awaited. Concerned officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
