Udupi : Lucky escape for 5 as car catches fire after tyre burst

Udupi, Sep 15,2016 : Five persons who were on way to Kasargod after visiting Kollur shrine had a miraculous escape when the Alto car in which they were travelling rammed against a road divider after its tyre burst and caught fire on the NH 66, near Shivakripa auditorium at Sastan on September 14, Wednesday night.

It is said the driver lost control over the vehicle after one of its rear tyres burst. The passengers soon alighted along with the driver. Though none of them were hurt, a cash of Rs 50,000 and three mobile phones which were in the vehicle were gutted.

Fire tender vehicles which rushed to the spot, put out the fire.
