Udupi : Dacoits threaten family, loot cash, gold

Udupi,Jan 4,2013 : Thieves who broke into a house at Kunjarugiri at Padubelle near Shirva in the wee hours of January 3, Thursday have decamped with gold and cash after threatening the family members by wielding knives.

 

 

 

 

 

The theft took place in the house of Damodar Samaga at around 3.45 am. Nearly five persons  who entered the house after dislodging the roof tiles, wielded knives and threatened Damodar Samaga, his wife and children  and  robbed nearly 49 grams of jewellery and a cash of Rs 10,000. Damodar Samaga has also sustained  minor injuries  in scuffle with the dacoits.

According to reports the thieves were speaking  Kannada and Tamil and all five had covered their faces.
Damodar Samaga works in the Bangalore branch of a famous jewellery shop and resided at Padubelle with his wife and two children.

Senior police officials including SP Dr S Boralingaiah have visited the house and investigations are in progress. A dog squad and finger print experts have also been pressed into service.
