Two arrested for hatching conspiracy to murder two Lawyers

Mangalore, May 6: The district crime intelligence bureau (DCIB) has succeeded to arrest two culprits for hatching conspiracy to murder lawyers, Jagadish Shenava and Shantiprasad Hegde.

 

 

Shantiprasad Hegde is a renowned lawyer. He is the brother of Padmaprasad Hegde, a member of the State Bar Council.

A team of police personnel’s, led by H N Venkatesh Prasanna, inspector DCIB, have arrested the two culprits Mohammed Iqbal (30), a resident of Moodushedde, Vamanjoor and Altaf (22), a resident of Marnamikatte, on May 5. A case has been charged against the culprits for hatching conspiracy to kill lawyers, Jagadish Shenava of Mangalore and and Shantiprasad Hegde from Moodbidri. Jagadish Shenava is also an activist of Sangh Parivar.

DCIB police have also confiscated some weapons from the culprits. After the arrest, Bunder Police said that, both arrested are having criminal backgrounds. While Iqbal faces the charge of killing Chetan at Jeppu Kudupady, Altaf has been named in the disturbances in the city following the murder of lawyer Kashimji.

It is said that, both culprits were moving towards the office of Jagadish Shenava at Kodialbail. On receiving information, DCBI police have conducted an immediate search operation and arrested the offenders. The criminals have been handed over to Bunder police station now. It is revealed from the investigation that the attempts were made to kill lawyers as a revenge for the killing of lawyer, Naushad Kashimji, last year.
