Malpe: Bengaluru woman dies of suspected heart attack at resort; case registered

Malpe, March 2, 2026: A 36-year-old woman from Bengaluru died after allegedly suffering a heart attack while staying at a resort in Padukere, Malpe.

The deceased has been identified as Lency Mary alias Surya (36), wife of L. Jackson from Bengaluru. She had travelled from Bengaluru on February 26 along with nine others and was staying at a resort in Padukere.

Death

On February 27, the group visited Malpe Beach and returned to the resort at night. On the morning of February 28, when Lency Mary did not wake up at around 8.30 am, she was immediately rushed to a hospital in Manipal. Doctors who examined her declared her brought dead.

It is suspected that she may have died due to a heart attack, illness, or other causes. A case has been registered at the Malpe Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
