Tulu comedy movie Sompa to be released on Friday

Mangalore, Sep 11, 2012: The team behind Sompa, a Tulu comedy movie produced by Namratha Hegde, has announced that the movie will be released in Dakshina Kannada on September 14, Friday. 

Addressing the press, producer Namratha Hegde, who also plays the lead female role in the movie, said that the movie will be simultaneously released in Moodubidri, Mangalore, and Puttur.

Stating that the movie was scheduled for release during the third week of August, she said that this could not happen because the family of Rampa objected to the use of his name in the title of the movie. The name of the movie had to be changed from Rampa to Sompa, she added. 

Ajatha Shathru told reporters that the movie is all about three men with serious family problems. When they are struggling with their problems, a man comes in their lives and becomes their godfather. He said that it is a must watch movie for all Tulu speaking people and also for non Tulu speaking people as it has a Hindi song. The movie is packed with entertainment as it has the elements of romance, comedy, humor, and thrill, he added. 

The movie featurs actors Tamma Laxman, Aravind  Bolar, Sadashiva Mrapurkar Mumbai, Jeevan Ullal, Ravi Suratkal, Prabhakar Shetty Mumbai, Manoj Attavar, Krishnaraj Shetty, Surendra Hegde, Chandravathi, and others. 

The technical team comprises director Rajan Lalpuri, photographer Iqbal Darbar, music and script writer Ajatha Shatru, dialogue writer Rajan Lalpuri, and choreography Pappukanna. The singers are Dr. Sushila Rao and Dr. Nithin Acharya from Mangalore and the art directors are Asif Khan and Tamma Laxman.
