Amrutha Someshwara, the distinguished litterateur, released books such as “Neyi Per,” “Bharatha Kavya Pasadi,” and “Tulunaddha Haridaser.” Damodhar Nisarga released the 50th volume of “Kalase Madhipu,” a collection of stories and poems by 34 scholars. He also released Amrutha Someshwara’s “Posa Gadhelu” and a CD titled “Aa Neeli Banodu” by Gangadhar Padubidri.

Amrutha Someshwar said Tulu books, culture, and language are just as popular as ever. He appreciated the efforts of the academy for organizing an event in which nearly 6 new works were released. Technology, unlike books, has limitations, he declared. Explaining his statement, he said that data stored in a computer can be erased, but books can never be erased; they will exist as permanent documents.

Damodar Nisarga said that the works of Amrutha Someshwar are just as worthy and valuable as the works of Shivaram Karanth. He also said that the smallest of books will add great weight to Tulu culture.

Akshatha Baikady and Ramavathi Baikady rendered the invocation. Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli compered the programme.

Palthady Ramakrishna Achar; Dr. Padekallu Vishnu Bhat, the scholar; Dr. B Shivaram Shetty, the professor of the department of Kannada in Mangalore University; Dr. Nikethana, the lecturer; and Sudhakar Rao Pejawar were the dignitaries on the dais.
