As the rain continued to pour throughout the night, people of Jappinamogeru are stranded in the flash flood water. The heavy rain did not cause damage other than creating transportation problems and flooding of some low-lying areas like Yekkur, Bajjodi, Pumpwell, Kallapu and Ullal.

The road traffic was hit due to water logging in the low lying areas. However, rail and air traffic remained unaffected.   Residents of Jappinamogeru locality and Yekkur were seen wading through knee-deep water and buses and taxis slowed down their pace to avoid accidents.

In order to avert any mishap occurring due to heavy rain and flood water, the district administration has deployed the staffs of home guard department in several areas of the city. Today morning some of the staffs from home guards have helped the school going students and children to reach their schools.

In another incident, the campus of a primary school in Jeppinamogeru submerged in the rain waters. The continuous rain fall also triggered a landslide near Yekkur.
