Thieves strike six houses in Uchila area

Padubidri, Oct 2, 2013 : As many as six houses in Uchila area were targeted by  thieves on September 30, Monday night.

It has been learnt that thieves who gained entry into the houses of Atika Hussain, Mumtaz, Nebisa Hassan and Nazeer Hassan of  Uchila Church Road, have stolen  cash of Rs 5000, watches and mobile phones.

Vain bids to burgle the houses of Abdul Razak and Iqbal Ahmed were also made. In one of the houses, a woman who woke up on hearing the sound at around 2 am at Uchila Polya, immediately alerted neighbours forcing the thieves to flee leaving behind  their bike and shoes.

 In the house of Atika Hussain at Bottu which too was burgled, the  thieves had even prepared omelette using the egg and ghee kept in the refrigerator. They had also stolen chocolates. Even  fruits kept in the refrigerator were found missing.

Local police are investigating.
