Ullal, January 26, 2026: A burglary was reported after miscreants broke into a house and ransacked cupboards, stealing valuables near Kesi Nagar, close to Palah School in Talapady village.
According to the details, Abubakkar, who owns a shop in Eliyar Padavu, has been working in Saudi Arabia for the past 25 years. In August last year, Abubakkar’s wife, son, and daughter locked the house and left for Saudi Arabia to stay with the family. The incident came to light today when Abubakkar’s brother’s wife visited the house to inspect and clean it.
The burglars reportedly broke open the main door and entered the house. They broke open and searched a total of four cupboards—three in rooms on the ground floor and one in a room on the first floor. Clothes were scattered all over the house. The thieves also searched the kitchen cupboards but did not find any gold ornaments.
As no gold was found, the burglars allegedly stole a valuable wristwatch and a mobile phone kept in the cupboard.
Family members stated that the gold ornaments had been kept in a safe locker even before the family left for abroad.
It is suspected that the accused had come with the intention of stealing gold ornaments and, failing to find any, made away with the mobile phone and watch. A complaint in this regard was filed by Shekabb, Abubakkar’s brother-in-law, at the Ullal police station. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
