Rubbishing allegations that the construction of the new vented dam in Thumbay was being delayed owing to shortage of funds, he said that he has instructed the district administration to complete the dam at the earliest possible.

Commenting on the tour of drought-affected districts in Karnataka undertaken by B. S. Yeddyurappa, the former chief minister of the state, he said that the state government will also take into consideration the report submitted by Yeddyurappa.

Regarding Dr. Mitra Hegde’s false claim of being appointed as the president’s private dentist, he said that there is no need to investigate the matter because it is just not important enough although Dr. Hegde had used the president’s name for personal gain. He, however, assured that he will ask his office to enquire into the issue. It may be recalled that Dr. Mitra Nidarsh Hegde had claimed in 2010 that she has been appointed as the private dentist of President Prathibha Patel. But as per the presidential response to an RTI application filed by Dr. Shivsharan Shetty, Dr. Hegde’s claim was false and the president had not appointed any private dentist.

Regarding the induction of Krishan J. Palemar, who has been declared not guilty in the porngate scandal, the CM said that this is an internal issue that will be decided by the party.

He also said that he will come to a decision regarding cabinet expansion after his Japan and Singapore trip in connection with the Global Investors’ Meet scheduled to be held in Bangalore in June.

He also said that Endosulphan victims who had applied for compensation have been compensated and urged the other victims to submit their applications.
