Mangalore, Dec 30, 2011 : A new park for special kids called Chilipili was inaugurated at Gandhi Nagar Park in Mannagudda on Dec 30 Friday by three special children Harsha, Sharadhi, and Pradeep.
The children who inaugurated the park are from Roman Catherine School of Blind, Chethana, and Sanidhya.
Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, the CEO of ZP, Deputy Mayor Geetha Nayak, Hundi Prabha Kamath, Joint Commissioner Shrikanth Rao, and architech Venkatesh Pai of Pai Lands were also present.
Prabha Kudva, the president of Gandhinagar Park Trust, spoke of the role played by various ministers, donors, and the MCC to build a special park for special kids on 35 cents of land.
The special children of Chethana School presented an episode from Babruvahana.
Chilipili includes entertainment such as slides, swings, a fountain, a rope climber, a tire tunnel, a merry-go-round, a parallel bar, a sea saw, a basketball board, and others.
The park is open to the public from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day except on Mondays.
